The first time I went to US131 was during Hot Rod Magazine’s Drag Week in 2005. We ended the week there, with a bunch of rain, but ultimately waited it out and finished on a dry race track. This track is awesome for several reasons, but it’s a staple big track and also a place that looks a lot like a race track in the middle of a state park. It’s got great history, tons of records, and is a track that has been hosting amazing events for decades. One of my favorites is when Extreme Top Fuel visits there as they put on a huge show with front motor dragsters and also cool nostalgia funny cars.
