Anything with an engine can be raced. Remember that…whether it’s two mountain-motor Pro Stockers or motorized tillers with a slightly nervous redneck preparing to grab a handful of throttle, an engine means a race is possible. So long as there are at least two competitors, there will be action, so long as there is a reason to compete, and that’s what brings us back in time to Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado and the 2009 Rocky Mountain Truck Fest. In the left lane, filled to the brim with the base ingredient of every form of life, we have a Kenworth water truck. In the right lane, we have the loudest horn this side of the Rocky Mountains, the big and brash, it’s…a fire truck. A fire truck vs. a water truck? Ok, whose great idea was it to let Safety Safari run down the strip?!

Well, the trucks are lined up and staged, and the crowd is into it, guess there’s only one way to settle this throwdown. So without further ado, starter, hit the button and we shall see which wholly inappropriate quarter-mile choice is the quicker of the two. Which one is your money on, folks?
