When the Loose Rocker Promotions St. Patrick’s 300 was postponed in March due to big rain, they decided to have it in July. Now if the race was called the Super Duper Nationals or some such thing it wouldn’t matter at all. But when the race is schedule for St. Patrick’s Day and then you postpone it to a completely different month, it is one of those things that make you laugh. But name aside, this race is perfect for the hot July weather, as someone is going to have to be on fire this weekend in order to take home the big money. And by big money we’re talking about $300,000 to Friday’s winner, and $420,000 to all the winners throughout the four day event.

The Wednesday race, which is really kind of a warmup, is worth $10,000 to the winner and is the smallest purse by a lot. We can’t wait to see all the action going on Wednesday through Saturday, becuase this is real life changing money on the line. This is going to be a great event, as Galot Motorsports Park is one of the premier dragstrips in the country and they know how to put on and run a great race.
