Fully Legal And Fully Wild: The Coffeyville Street Drags Still Hits Hard And Is Still On Public Roads!

Fully Legal And Fully Wild: The Coffeyville Street Drags Still Hits Hard And Is Still On Public Roads!

It’s one of the happier stories to come out of the whole street racing popularity wave that came about from Street Outlaws: the Coffeyville Street Drags. If you seriously haven’t heard of what this is, the city of Coffeyville, Kansas allowed racers to take over a small street near the Coffeyville Municipal Airport for the sake of legit street racing. The rubber on the ground is all from the tires and the only real nod to safety is the Jersey barriers that get put up prior to the events. With an ambulance crew on standby and the city turning the race into a legitimate event for the community, the Street Drags have been a success and to some, notorious for promoting the ideas of street racing and habits that some view as childish, monkey-see-monkey-do antics that come from the television show. We’ve been there and we can tell you for a fact, this isn’t a racer’s dog and pony show. Everything from the local street warriors to some no-shit race cars roll onto the surface and lay it out bare for everyone in attendance to see for themselves. Urban Hillbilly Videos was on-hand to capture the action and got everything, including a monsterous GTO that was barely tamed. Many a run are exercises in car control under near-zero traction runs…the way street racers seem to want it!
