The Dodge Demon…for something that in reality was nothing more than a Dart coupe, this car pissed off a lot of people. A Duster wearing a Dart nose, these cars were immediately targeted by religious groups for the name and the little grinning demon logo so much that in 1973 Dodge changed it’s name to Dart Sport. Hmm…now that I think about it, I wonder how those groups are handling the Hellcat series…
Now, if you’re going to own something called a Demon, it damn well better act like one, and this one does in spades. The car belongs to R.J. Politowski, and it sounds ready to rip things in half with lots of fire nearby. The Demon is packing a 499ci low-deck Wedge motor and comes in under 2900 lbs. weight. The car is typically right about the 8.9-ish second range on the strip. And that noise…that shriek…yes, please.
That is a badass Demon , makes me miss my old “72 Demon 340.
