Am I jealous that 1320Video packed up and went to Puerto Rico in the middle of winter? Yep. Can I blame them? No, not really. Half-mile racing going off this early in the year sounds pretty sweet to us, too, so while we work on our shop projects, fill our calendars for the year and revive beaters, Kyle and the gang hit up Salinas Speedway on the island to catch some of the action at the PR Half Mile event. There is nothing that says “happiness” quite like keeping your foot buried in the power for quite some time, is there? It’s roll racing that brings out a wide swath of vehicles. Some, like Nissan GT-Rs, Corvettes and McLarens are typical. But then you have the atypical, like Rolando Barahona’s Ram 1500 that’s been Hellcat-swapped, or Josue Vazquez’s 2003 Lotus Esprit V8 that are coming out to party. And wait until you see the absolutely unmerciful stomping that a Mitsubishi Evo hands to a Honda S2000…bus-lengths were added, and a red Corvette got the business end of that deal too. Nothing like taking a trip to the Caribbean Sea and watching some genuinely swift machinery go for broke into the sunset!
