As High As You Can: This Blazer Went Stargazing At Byron!

As High As You Can: This Blazer Went Stargazing At Byron!

The Byron Wheelstanding competition is one of those love-it-or-hate-it events that happens throughout the year. You either love it because it’s raw power turning into wheelstands that get the crowd riled up while giving inspectors plenty of time to check out the chassis from a new angle. Or, you hate it because it’s borderline wanton destruction, has no merit or purpose other than to look cool, therefore it’s a waste of time, energy and money. We aren’t going to change your mind on the subject anytime soon, but we will highlight some of the vehicles that took part in the event, like this little S-10 Blazer that took the stripe. Some vehicles just naturally go for the skies, and the small Blazer does this quite well. A hot small block and maybe a little juice helping it along is all that’s needed to get one of these little trucklets up onto the back bumper. We’ve seen them go full-vertical a time or two as well. And outside of the shattered rear glass, this Blazer does pretty well…it goes up swiftly, comes down relatively easily and driver David Dauben appears to be in control at all times. No trying to ride out an accident in progress…just a good, clean wheelstand. Nice.
