Holley Hot Rod Reunion 2017: Heating Up The Strip And Waking Up The Neighbors!

Holley Hot Rod Reunion 2017: Heating Up The Strip And Waking Up The Neighbors!

With the rain out of the way and the sun on display, any concern about the Holley Hot Rod Reunion 2017 races was immediately put to bed. The temperatures were high and the humidity in “legendary” territory, but hot and humid beats under water by any measure for everyone who was looking forward to some competition. The weather didn’t mess with the fans, who filled up the seating on both sides of the track and it didn’t bother the racers, who packed into the staging lanes for qualification rounds and early eliminations in the larger classes. With the track staff at Beech Bend busting their backsides to keep everything in order, the action was swift. Every class, from the Funny Cars and the rails down to the super stockers and the Geezer Gassers class was moving out swiftly and with purpose, while the Exhibition cars were putting on a show in between rounds. And just to cap the end of the day, the two jet dragsters lit off the afterburners and gave the crowd an earful of noise and a hint of burned jet fuel to end their afternoon at Beech Bend Raceway Park. Come Saturday, the competition would kick off in full force!
