The engine family might be the center of attention for the Holley LS Fest, but it’s the action that continues to bring people from far and wide to Kentucky to play. We have drag racing that sees just about everything possible, from old-school cool to brand new Corvettes still on paper tags hitting the strip. We have the autocross courses, where big names like Brian Finch and Valerie Pichette run their cars to the edge of traction. We have drifters who use two entire corners of one end of Beech Bend’s oval track as one monster corner and drift the entire distance and then some before setting up for smaller, tighter corners later on in the run. NCM Motorsports Park is hosting a second autocross course this year that is, according to racers, one of the more wide-open courses they’ve seen. The Dyno Challenge is the ultimate lie detector and any car that’s registered for the show can climb on board and see if the numbers spoken match the numbers at the wheels, and did we mention “burnout contest”? For pure fun alone, you simply can’t beat it! And of course there’s plenty to look at in the show and shine fields, as always, from stunning builds all the way to a Mega Truck that was tooling around the property!
