Video Description:

I love visiting Paradise Dragstrip in Calhoun, Georgia. It’s an old school track that’s been in business since 1961. Otto Timms built the place and maintained it for many years. Unfortunately, he passed away several years ago, but his family still operates the eighth-mile drag strip. On Saturday, March 1st, the Otto Timms Memorial race took place, offering a HUGE swap meet, car show and fun runs down the track.

The weather was perfect and a great turnout of people came out to celebrate the first event of the year. I spotted lots of good stuff in the swap meet, including an LS9-powered ’57 Nomad, a very cool rear engine dragster chassis, and lots of great parts. In the car show area, I was blown away with the ultimate drag car and ramp truck combo. It’s a Fiat Toppolino altered drag car, with magnesium wheels, a big Olds rear end, and amazing patina. The ramp truck is a Chevrolet cab over, which is sitting on a Dodge motorhome chassis.

Other notable cars included a 1969 Ford Mustang Stock Eliminator car, a few sleeper cars, a ’64 Chevelle drag car, ’56 Chevy gasser, ’56 Chevy Super Stocker and much more. Stick around to watch some of the racing action.
