Morning Symphony: A 1993 Ford Falcon ED Without E.D. – Import-Legal Next Year!

Morning Symphony: A 1993 Ford Falcon ED Without E.D. – Import-Legal Next Year!

The 25-year vehicle import rule bites. But until the law changes, you have to play by the rules, and for 2018 (when, if you start now, you’ll probably end up actually shipping your car of choice) the 25-year mark is 1993, and that means that Ford Falcons like the ED variation you see here are able to be shipped over. And hey, if you’re going to the trouble of shipping over a Ford Falcon, you might as well fill the shipping container to the brim, so do yourself the favor and locate a Barra 4.0L inline-six. Think of the Barra as Ford’s answer to the Toyota 2JZ: it’s an inline mill that loves boost.

Paired together, it’s the best of both worlds: a four-door large sedan that can haul the family around and maybe even pull decent mileage if you can be bothered to keep your foot out of it, and on the other side of the coin you have a freak, a boosted rocket with three pedals (ok, not in this car) and the ability to absolutely stun anyone who thinks they can walk it.

Or, you could find a 5.0L powered car….but we think the six-cylinder would be a fine choice. What say you?
