Are we really about to say that power adders aren’t necessary? Hell no. I’ve got a supercharger kick that has stuck with me since I first found out what an Eaton M90 can do to a Buick V6 and Chad goes through enough nitrous in a season to supply a small-town dentist. Nothing wrong with either situation. But, there is something to be said about staying naturally aspirated. Namely, that in the face of opposition, you’re only showing off your baseline. This isn’t the final form…you’ve got more on the table if you really want to step up the game, but you are so confident in what you’ve got that you are willing to stay as-is, to play safe, and that you still plan on kicking some ass when you line up at the strip. We can dig that. Some folks just want to do it the natural way and not have any help at all. Nothing wrong there either.
This 355-powered Olds is a lot of what we like to see: a small-block G-body that is easily streetable but can take it directly to the track and have it out if need be. Nothing like a friendly game of “line up and let’s go” with some buddies to make a day, right?
It is a great feeling out running a power adder car with a n/a car.
