There were Chevrolet pickups like this everywhere growing up. The rally wheels, the two-tone paint in red, or blue, or blue/silver like my sister had for a first vehicle. They had the big bumper out back to make stepping into the bed that much easier. They had the same low-power 305 or 350 under the hood, but were so light out back that you could still have a bit of fun if you were so inclined. And the droopy 1980s headliner, present and accounted for. Yeah, this is a visual throwback to the 1990s. But that’s right where the similarities end.
This C10 is one sticker-removal session away from looking 90% stock to even some of the more eagle-eyed sleeper spotters. But check the tool box out. Those widened rear truck rally wheels are there for a reason…to grip the strip. It’s an ’86 and is running a small-block on a pretty stout shot of spray. Yeah, small-block plus nitrous equals what we suspect is a sub-10 second run. We don’t mind the nostalgia look at all, but the performance here is what sold us. This is a beauty.
