(Photography: Wes Allison) The last blast of the NHRA Mello Yellow Drag Racing season is done for the year, with the final event at Pomona sealing the deal for 2019. It’s always cool to see the action at the final event of the year because everybody is more than ready to throw everything they have at the track in the hopes of pulling a miracle out of somewhere. The off season is the time to teardown and rebuild anyways, so what is there to lose? The fans are in the stands, the tree is lit up, and shortly after the race is over the machine will be in pieces, being inspected and messed with for 2020. Why not go for broke and lay everything on the line?
