Having rain fall during the NMCA Bluegrass Nationals is simply going to happen. Every single year I’ve attended, at some point rain comes into the picture. There isn’t anything anyone can do besides wait it out and start drying up once the waterworks shut off, and that’s exactly what happened on Saturday afternoon. Once Kurt Johnson and his team of workers got the 1,320 cleared up and ready to go, the program continued on and eventually, the sky broke, giving the racers some sunshine to play in.

Those that did brave the trip out to Kentucky to run got their fair share of laps in before Saturday’s rounds of qualifying and heads-up action, which you’ll see more of in the next couple of days. For now, click on a photo below to see more from Beech Bend!
