NMRA All-Ford World Finals 2017: More Test Session Shots From Beech Bend!

NMRA All-Ford World Finals 2017: More Test Session Shots From Beech Bend!

There is one factor that must be taken into account for the NMRA All-Ford World Finals event this year: the weather. You see, by the time the NMRA fall event rolls around, the weather for Beech Bend comes in one of two flavors: mid-summer, with temperatures in the upper 90s and humidity that rivals the Everglades, and rain by the ton. This weekend, that is not the case at all. On Thursday, temps were in the 80s and were expected to go lower, the air is drier, and there is still enough sun out to keep the track surface nice and warm. The racers know this, and some of the preliminary test hits we got to see showed the potential of what was to come. More than a couple of teams were having to dial back power to make sure they didn’t break a rule…or an axle. We saw a couple mid-track power wheelies from turbocharged cars, a nitrous Fox go for the sky, and plenty of crews stunned that the car stuck the launch. If you aren’t at Beech Bend this weekend, you need to be! If you need any more persuasion, we have another photo gallery for you to peruse below!
