Dennis Allen in the Cowin-Allen A/Fuel Dragster
The Nostalgia A/Fuel Racers Association is proud to announce the 2nd annual John Shoemaker Memorial Shoot-Out. The event will be run as part of the NHRA Division 7 Event at California’s Sonoma Raceway on July 24-26. With the success of the inaugural event last year, NAFRA and Sonoma Raceway, in conjuction with NHRA Division 7, are proud to be able to return this event to the schedule.

NAFRA is scheduled to have an 8 car Chicago Style Shoot Out. Currently the cars scheduled to be part of the event include the Blown Alcohol cars of Shawn Corbari, Archibald-Cotrell, Jensen-Maxwell and Dennis Murphy’s Jerry Kumre Jr driven car and the Injected Nitro contingent includes Multi Time series Champ Doc Bates in the Bates & Adams dragster, the Cowin-Allen team with driver Dennis Allen, Clayton Zulim and the Austin Family’s Pro-Max digger driven Drew Austin.

The Nostalgia A/Fuel Racing Association is proud and honored to be have received the blessing of John’s widow Judee Shoemaker for this event, Judee was thrilled that John’s legacy would be remembered at a track where he had such success and was happy with the reception the event got last year. Several of the racers included in the event have been involved with the Shoemaker family over the years and are excited to race in his memory.
