While we’re not huge on import drag racing around here, we certainly can appreciate what it takes to make something run 6’s in the quarter mile, especially when it’s a stick car with an H-Pattern shifter. That is no small feat, and being as I’m a fan of an EG Honda Hatch, I think this little car here is cool as hell. Kyle and the gang at 1320Video did a full feature on this car, its record-setting performance at World Cup Finals, and all that went into making it happen.
Check out the video, look at the endo this thing did when the charge pipe blew off of it on the 6 second run, and look at how hard that impacted the speed on that famed run. As the description below says, imagine what this thing will run if everything goes right and it runs all the way down the track. Booya!
Video Description:
James Kempf has been a household name in the racing community for many years now. Holding FWD and Honda records is nothing out of the ordinary for Kempf, so maybe it’s no surprise that his 2,000hp AWD B-series Civic has become the quickest H-Pattern 4-cylinder car in the world – running a 6.91 @ 198mph! Congrats to James and the team on the 6 and winning your class at Import vs Domestic: World Cup Finals 2022! We can’t wait to see the car make a full pass! 😛
And just think how much faster he would be. IF HE DIDNT LET OFF THE GAS BETWEEN SHIFTS!!!. All these young guys need to look up some old-school gear banging. Look the car nose dives between shifts. And it’s turbo’d. So ya throw out all that boost between shifts. A good driver with a stick. The car should sound like an automatic.
