“In testing” my left foot…we first saw the evil black Willys at the TS Performance Diesel Drags earlier this year, and if they are still tuning and tweaking that car, we’re nothing short of stunned. The MBRP Willys, driven by Ryan Milliken, runs like a pro mod, but with a diesel kick. The Duramax adds to the appeal…while Cummins mills are everywhere, hearing the Duramax’s V8 noise above the regular oil-burner clatter and spooling Garrett twin-turbo setup lends credibility to the hot-rod look, and the car moves and more importantly, revs, like a gas-burner. And in all-black with the simple logo at the door, it is an evil-looking piece that couldn’t be any more at home than on the strip, waiting to take down whatever is in the opposite lane. And, oh, yeah…there’s nitrous on board too, just to make sure that the all-fiberglass body, Mark Williams rear suspension and Tommy Mooney-built chassis get a full workout as Milliken shifts through the Bruno Lenco transmission. The Willys was one of the big players at the drags, and it posts big numbers to back up those looks.
Help – I’ve coughed up me lungs just watching…
This car is awesome – the first chopped Willys I have seen – I’d love to see a car with these body mods on the street. I would combine Pro Mod with Pro Touring to have the looks and the handling capability for Britain’s tight and twisty roads.
It sure makes a change from all the gasser clones out there!
Jumping Holy Orders McTaggert ! That ain’t no Batman ! That thing is pure unadulterated evil incarnate [ or ” Karn Evil 9 ” if you prefer ]
And yeah like our resident Mad Geordie said . Minus the rear wing those body mods would make for one hell of a Willys street rod .
Damn … one hell of a Willys street rod indeed . One that would be right up James Hetfield’s alley I would think !
Somebody – Build It – Please ! – In black if you would .
Especially if it was called Enter Night……
Awesome car. Great body. Awful filmography. Next time have the camera guy down track so we can actually see it run vs. sitting in the coal and basically only see it on the line….
