If you live near or race at Yello Belly Drag Strip then you know the charms, the rough edges, and the reputation have been well earned. Often referred to as “The Gut” by locals, it is one of those places that we all know and love even though it’s one of the sketchiest, rowdiest, and weirdest places you’ll ever race. For many years, DFW area street racers went to the streets because it was nicer than going to Yello Belly. But Yello Belly is Yello Belly and it has enjoyed a renaissance of sorts in the past few years in no small part thanks to the internet and social media which have made it a go to destination for racers and fans. Hell, The Taco Lady is enough reason to visit in my book. It’s as outlaw as they get though, so don’t get your nose all out of joint when you come and it’s as much Road House as it is drag strip.

The 1320 Video crew recently visited for Jimmy Dale’s Small Tire Gangsta’s race and dubbed it the Rowdiest Track in the USA! That’s saying something coming from them and we totally approve. Check out the video below.

It’s no surprise to hear someone say Yellobelly Drag Strip is the rowdiest drag strip in the US. Spectators are literally lining the starting line area, with some standing on the actual race track. We took the chance to spend a weekend here and watch some of the baddest small tire cars race for nearly $20,000 in prize money.
