Remember the Mitsubishi Mirage from the early 1990s? Sold as the Dodge/Plymouth/Mitsubishi Colt pretty much everywhere else in the world and rooted as the first form of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution series of cars, in America…yeah, this is what your sister got as a first car just before you were told that you had to earn your own set of wheels. A Mitsubishi Mirage was bought either to save fuel or because you were cheap. That’s it. They weren’t sporting, they weren’t desirable. They were small, frugal and painted every trendy early 1990s shade of purple and aqua you could find. There is no reason to fear any Mirage.
Ok, there’s one. Remember that quip about being the first Evo? Mitsubishi’s 4G63 four-banger fits. So does the all-wheel-drive goodies from a first-generation DSM machine, like the Eclipse. You don’t need a lesson on how a turbocharger on that four-cylinder works out, do you? Play your cards right and you can wind up with a 600+ horse sucker maker that looks like it should have been crushed ten years ago. We don’t know the whole story on this particular car, but we do know that since this video was filmed, the Mirage has seen a 9.3 second quarter at over 150 MPH.

It just kills me to watch these young guys drive a stick. No one knows how to speed shift. I could shift my stick years ago,and it sounded like an automatic . These guys need to go watch the south east gassers . And with a turbo, you loose all your boost between shifts .Dam it man you have a race car . Drive it like one.
