Words really are not needed for the awesomeness that is this 1968 Chevy C10. The paint is a mile deep, the widened steelies with caps is spot-on, it’s still sporting license plates and it’s running high-10s in the quarter. It’s so close to perfection, you might be tempted to shed a tear in joy. We love seeing race machines that could easily blend in at the car show come out and put the tires to some good use…nothing against show cars, but we want to see some action and seeing this Chevy pop up the front tire before hauling the mail down to the finish line is action we all can enjoy. Shot out at Byron Dragway in Illinois, we wonder what kind of life this Chevy had before it was cleaned up and turned into the beast it is today. Chances are good that at one point it was hustling some hay around on a farm somewhere, living the life of a true work truck. Can you picture the farmer’s reaction if he could see what that truck he last saw parked under the eaves of the barn those years ago is up to now?
Very nice, and consider that I loath all things GM. But clean, done right by outward appearances.
Now. Tell me what drag strip allows you to run with HUBCAPS??!!
My family has been drag racing since 1963, and I have never been to one drag strip from New York to California that has ever let a car make a pass down the strip with hobcaps, let alone an obviously set up street/strip rod like this!
Ah, the great tailgate up or down debate! I’ve “heard” down is no advantage. Seems it should help? Is” pro farm” a thing now?
