Mini fans might be completely and utterly against this monster, but we love it. What used to be a small, quaint, front-wheel-drive estate version of the lovable and iconic Mini is now, quite literally, a shell of it’s former self. What happened? Well, the blow-through turbocharger pipe feeding the massive carburetor air is a good sign: this Mini is almost half-Mopar! That is a 408 cubic inch Mopar small block jammed in there, being force-fed by a single turbocharger. The product of Mad Racing Engines, a speed shop in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, the Mini is one of the two resident shop cars, sharing the title with a clean third-generation Chevy Nova. Just how fast is this little package of explosives? It’s a solid eight-second car with some rather twitchy tendencies and a hit of wheelspin across the finish line. So, which one of you would love the chance to sit pretty much on top of the transmission and give this little monster a shot?
Just let me check this out again – yup – no LS!
Its great to know some Aussies at least have some imagination and have built possibly the wildest Mini of all time!
Love it, a friend has a 55 Chev. shorty wagon about the same length that runs 9s that’s a real handfull, sideways in the lights most every pass, he thinks it’s fun. The big burnout looks awesome.
F’ing great!
Best part is the fat white guy in the run dmc shirt
