It would have been a crime for the 1320Video guys to go down to Australia and miss the cars that have been seen on the Internet…especially cars that have been on Mighty Car Mods. Now, before you see the Nissan Skyline GT-R-like front clip and start moving your mouse towards the back button, hold on a second. This is a Nissan Stagea…think “Skyline wagon” and you’ll be close enough. They don’t normally come with that nose cone, but it does bolt on. But the usual turbocharged RB-series inline-six is not under this hood. This gray monster is known on Mighty Car Mods as “Double Unicorn” for two reasons: the Skyline wagon deal, which is effectively a phantom build, and the mill underneath the hood: a VH41 4.1L V8, similar to what we got in the late-1990s Infiniti Q45 sedan in the States. Owned by Benny, known on MCM as “Mechanical Stig”, the Stagea’s V8 is wicked up with a turbocharger because…well, why the hell not…and bridges the gap between V8 fans and the JDM crowd nicely. That, and the Nissan mill revs nicely under power. With Benny dropping hints that the 500 horsepower V8 wagon is possibly wounded, the low-12 second quarter-mile runs are stout.
