The No Prep Drag Racing world is showing no signs of slowing down, but it certainly has found itself divided between “back of the track” and “front of the track”. Back of the track means they are starting in the shutdown area and racing towards what would traditionally be the starting line at the dragstrip and front of the track means they are still racing the “correct” direction but with no prep done to the racing surface at a minimum, and in some cases with the entire track being scraped to bare pavement. In the video below from our friends at Spoold we’re watching the King of Columbus Backside Battle.
Of us, back of the track no prep is a lot more like racing on the streets, and we dig it. Of course I love anything that involves drag racing, so bring it all on.
Video Description:
Our first trip ever to Darana Raceway for the baddest Ohio back of the track race was insane!!!! King of Columbus Backside Battle brought 50+ Small Tire cars out to battle for $13,000+ and bragging rights as the baddest Ohio backside racer!!! With racers from all over the midwest and east coast, who would prevail and lay claim as the baddest on water only and the quickest backside race we’ve ever seen!??!?!??!!?
