There’s something about a lemon…it’s small, it’s sour, it grabs your visual attention with it’s bright yellow skin and once you get into it, every part of your body is inundated with that flavor. This lemon yellow Mazda RX3 is kind of like a lemon, then. It’s certainly small, like pretty much every Rotary-powered Mazda ever made. Sour…eh, angry, maybe. The visual skin on the outside is certainly eye-searing, and the second the turbos spool all eyes are on the car as it proceeds to hike a front tire up and carry it a good distance down the track while on full boost.
This is the PAC Performance RX3 with driver Steven Barnett at the wheel. From stem to stern, there isn’t an inch of the little coupe that isn’t prepared for the express mission of whipping ass on the tracks of Australia. At 7.08@192, there is precious few competitors that can line up against it without being a little bit nervous about what will happen once the lights drop.
In the late ’70’s early ’80’s in So Cal “Tora Tora Tora” ran in M/P ,then SS and I think Pro Gas. That thing could make your ears bleed. “Hold it at 9000 while I set the timing”.
Sounds like a badass 2-stroke!
Rocky and George build some very wicked cars, also doing a lot of parts for these motors.
Also 2 of the nicest guys out there.
My god I want a wankel now…maybe in the back of a classic bug, hmmm.
