If you have never heard of the Stockholm Open, know that when 1320Video calls it the most intense, they mean it. This is a street race like none other, because the stakes are much higher and pulling it off requires far more planning and precision than your average American street race. This one goes down all around Stockholm Sweden and is kept a secret so as to keep racers and organizers safe from the authorities. Or as safe as they can be.
When I say all around Stockholm, the idea is genius, here’s how it works. Small groups, with just one pair running at a time, will meet at their directed spot, roll out onto the divided highway and make their run. Two burnouts, line them up, and race. The crowd follows and everyone scatters into the wind until the next spot and the next race. These are happening simultaneously all around Stockholm.
With four races happening all around town, it makes it harder for a giant crackdown by the authorities that would result in cars being impounded and arrests being made. Make no mistake, Sweden takes street racing VERY seriously and you’ll see a whole new level of precaution in this video as racers and crew are regularly seen wearing masks to keep their identity secret on camera. Kyle and the 1320 crew also take extra steps to make sure that faces are blurred when they are NOT wearing a mask. I’d love to go. Maybe 2026 will be my year.
Watch and let us know what you think.
Video Description:
We made the trip to Sweden for the Stockholm Open Street Race, one of the biggest and longest-running street races in the world. It’s been happening since the 1980s, making it a cornerstone of European street racing culture.
Dozens of cars from across Europe came out to battle it out on the streets of Stockholm — everything from daily drivers to full-on drag builds. The atmosphere, the competition, and the history behind it make this one of the most iconic street racing events we’ve filmed.
