The K-car gets the glory but the L-car was the true turnaround point for the Chrysler Corporation in the later 1970s. When the majority of the cars being sold were tank-like barges that had roots dating back to 1969, seeing a small, trim little front driver in the face of another energy crisis had to have been a godsend. Like the K-car, the L-body started off as basic transportation and evolved over the years, growing a coupe form from the original hatchback and sprouting a couple of factory hot rods along the way. But hard-core machines they were not…even the Shelby examples of the Dodge Charger were best described as “sporty”.
A rear-drive converted, tubbed, fully prepared 1986 Charger drag machine, however, isn’t sporty. It’s wicked. And it appears ready to rock, with a fresh engine and a current best in the upper eight second range. And it still looks like an actual car…we can get on-board with that! This evil little freak needs to be out on the strips tearing the rears off!

Sox and Martin replica anyone?
Or Dick Landy Omni replica- as soon as you lose the stupid cowl on the hood and get a proper period scop on it…
Paint it as a vintage Pro Stocker once you go with a period hood on it.
saved the wifes behind the garage just to do that , anybody remember the direct connection drag conversion kits for these?
