We’re not really sure what’s under the hood of this tiny Fiat Uno hatchback in Italy, but whatever is making the power is doing a pretty good job. If you’re not familiar with the Uno, it’s a small, entry-level hatchback/city car that isn’t really known for motorsports. Sure, they get rallied and road-raced a bit, but Fiat drag-racing pedigree isn’t a thing. That said, there were turbocharged version of the Uno that squeezed a bit more than 100 horsepower from 1.6 liters, but we think this wheel-bar-wearing Uno might make a bit more than that. In fact, we’re sure that it’s sucking enough boost to run 9-second quarter-mile passes.
As Italy lacks in drag strips, this is made more impressive by the fact that this Uno is going under 10s on a relatively unprepared runway. The driver smashes the gears all the way through each pass with the engine banging the rev limiter and the turbo whistling more crisply than the Andy Griffith Show theme. Or something. Whatever, it sounds like a swarm of bees approaching you at 300 mph.
