The other day I found a street-legal Ford-bodied ex-Craftsman Truck racer that got you guys talking a bit. Surely, having a street-legal ex-racecar would be a riot, right? Safety equipment that is proven to work at speed you’ll never see on the Interstate, looks that translate immediately into “this is serious business”, and if you change out the four-gear for a six-speed unit, it’s even starting to push on the bounds of weekend driver some. Of course, there is the whole semi-legal look of it all that helps, too. It seems that one of our more unhinged compatriots in the business jumped on the bandwagon a while back. Cleetus McFarland, who is known for his “Leroy the Savage” Vette-kart, recently acquired a Chevy-bodied machine that is in full Earnhardt livery. Because what else would get him to part with hard-earned cash like a Dale Earnhardt reference, right? Well, the old boy has been busy with the “Dale Truck” and plans to have fun with it as well as use it for work outside of hooning videos. That’s cool, but first thing’s first: running a former NASCAR truck down the drag strip. We will agree with Cleetus on this point: we suspect the timing system of having a minor fault somewhere. If we’re wrong. then …wow.
God…I hope he doesn’t reproduce.
Guys…it\’s a shtick. Pretty sure dude comes from a normal family that has done well for themselves. His real name isn\’t \”Cleetus\”. The \”Do it for Dale\” thing is also just a gimmick. Young guy…IN LAW SCHOOL…having fun with cooler stuff than you will probably ever have.
Calm down, go take a ride in your fox body and a few drags off one of the partially smoked Pall Malls in the ashtray. Come home and take the remote from your stepson while drinking his Mtn Dew in front of him and watch some \”Gas Monkey\” show since that\’s probably what you\’re into….

at least the truck has pedigree, being from DEI &raced by Dave Marcus……
