There is something about seeing old American cars racing in England that just makes it even cooler than if they were at home. I guess it’s because we expect to see old MGs and Jaguars and stuff like that tearing up the track at the Goodwood House in Sussex. And we get those, there is no doubt, but thanks to the incredible rise in popularity that has happened at Goodwood in recent years, we also expect to see all kinds of American race cars and hot rods. In the video below you will see a bunch of on track action featuring big American V8 powered cars on the track.

Despite being a small circuit on the South Coast of England, we don’t half attract a lot of big American V8s at Goodwood. And we’re thankful that we do, as they’re incredibly entertaining. Some of the clips in this compilation demonstrate just how talented the drivers are when behind the wheel of the Yank tanks. They have to preempt what’s in front of them much faster than the drivers of the agile Alfa Romeos and Minis surrounding them. So, sit back, grab a sweet tea and watch Ford Galaxies, Plymouth Barracudas and many more battling around our little circuit.
