Everyone knows Shaquille O’Neal, but some folks may not realize how much of a car nut he is. While lots of sports stars spend big money on cars and trucks, most of them aren’t real enthusiasts like Shaq. I remember some of his rides from his early days in the NBA, and compared to a lot of his fellow players, his cars and trucks were far more custom. One in particular that I remember was his OBS Suburban, and what made it memorable to me wasn’t just all the Superman logos in the custom paint, but the fact that he had to lower the seat base AND double the seat slides so it went back far enough for him to drive. The dude is over 7 feet tall after all. So how does someone like Shaq buy a sports car?
If he wants a new Corvette, which he can clearly afford, how the hell is he going to drive it? Cars today aren’t made for 7 footers. I happen to be friends with a guy that is 7’1″ tall and can tell you that he drives some surprising cars and trucks, and has some favorites for rentals based on how he fits. You’d be surprised to know that a Kia Soul is one of his favorites.
But I digress.
What does Shaq do if he wants to comfortably drive a new C8 Corvette? He gets someone to stretch it 20 inches. Watch.
