We’ve heard just about every possible position that involves General Motors’ LS series of engines and swap hatred. For an engine that makes stupid power cheaply, there is a lot of animosity over just about any car that has one that didn’t come factory with it between the fender wells. While the domestic guys have a beef with Chevy-powered Fox Fords, if you really want to see some anger stirred up, swap one into an import and go to one of their cruises…chances are things will end rather badly. One of the more notorious anti-LS cliques are fans of Mazda RX-7s, in particular the “FD” generation. Lucky you, this white Mazda does not have a GM engine under the hood. Instead, there’s an even bigger punchline: a Honda K20A four-banger running on E85 and 17 pounds of turbocharger boost is sitting where the Wankel should be. Pushing a solid 435 horsepower out at the wheels through a Honda S2000-sourced six-speed manual and capable of low-11 second quarter-mile times, the RX-7 can run. It’s performance credentials cannot be questioned, and it doesn’t even sound much like the buzzy fart-can Civics we are used to in the States. So there you go…not everyone is jamming in a 5.3L!

Truthfully I would have went with the LS. Would have been cheaper and made more power, put the K20 in a bug eyed sprite/midget.
I can see this Mazda RX-7 as a great alternate to many of the available options that are not good when comes to the engine and power terms. The features offered here seems quite effective in order to have some extra benefits that the substitutes never provide with. I\’m a writer and currently working for a resume service (go here). I\’m a fan of cars and bikes and hence this wonderful websites and posts maintained by you is really a great source for me to have updated about things from the motor world as it happens, whether it\’s about the arrival of new model or something about an even being organized for enthusiasts like me.
