Quite frankly I think you can get either one of these Chevrolet Projects for $400 or less. The Camaro has an asking price of $400 which makes it easy, and the Monte is asking $600 which I believe is more like $400 or $450 if you show up with cash. Just sayin’. And look at them! The third Gen Camaro is straight as can be, has nothing engine and driveline related that is worth having so you won’t be tempted to screw it up and keep some of it. The Monte is also super straight, and since they are both SoCal cars there is no rust at all!
Just look at these. And there are plenty of others like it, even if you are a Ford or Mopar guy. But these two speak to me because they have a very very strong aftermarket support from companies like Ridetech and Chassisworks. Plus, virtually all the restoration parts you could ever need for either one are readily available as well. That makes these a relatively budget friendly car to build. And remember, they both have chassis that work well with the right parts so these can be a relatively “bolt on” type of car build. And still haul ass by the way!
Check these two out.

Careless smoker, or is there more interesting backstory here?
