You know what makes me sick? You know what makes me so angry I just want to pull a harmonic balancer with my bare teeth? People calling cars “Pro-Touring” when they aren’t!!! Take this Chevelle for example. It’s on Craigslist, it appears to be a really clean 1971 Chevelle, it has some cool looking parts on it, and the price seems pretty fare based on what I can see. But calling it a Pro-Touring car just because it has a set of 18’s and 20’s on it makes me want to kick the seller in the testicles. Oh, and while you’re putting your cup on seller, why don’t you fire your exhaust guy. Silver tips sticking out from under black quarter panels makes normal people puke. Hack those bitches off.
I know I sound a little angry, but I think I have the right to be.
Here is the information for the Chevelle I’m mad about. I’ve removed the seller’s logo from the photos and the name and phone number from the ad.

Here are a few things to note. First off, it’s laser, not lazer. We aren’t in the U.K., and we’re talking about an American Car. Laser dude.
Big Block – I love it. But with rare exception big block cars aren’t pro touring machines. I’ll let this one slide, it’s minor.
TH400 – Same deal here. Most Pro-Touring machines will have a stick in them, but I can and have heard people make cases for running an auto instead.
So it has power brakes and power steering. Like 99% of the Chevelles being restored or built. And a digital dash? Really? Oooooohhhh. Those “Custom” off the shelf SCAT seats are cool, but not custom. And neither is any of the rest of the interior except those fancy bowtie floor mats.
So what rear end is in it? Gears? Posi? What springs? Bushings? Control arms? Trailing arms? Shocks? What size are the sway bars? How big are the brakes? Calipers? Tire sizes? Brand? Fuel system? Carb, ignition, headers, engine internals, etc, etc, etc.?
I realize that a consignment or dealership joint is selling this thing, but still. Some details are what should be in this ad. And no human on earth, who is at all interested in Pro-Touring, would list their car for sale without talking about all the cool parts that are bolted or welded to the thing to make it turn, stop, and accelerate faster.
THIS IS NOT PRO-TOURING!
Has the pro-touring look finally gotten so popular that anything lowered with 18 inch are larger wheels is considered pro-touring? If it is, then we need to change the name of this movement because we’re all screwed.
