Cole’s Chevrolet LUV truck is going to be a fun little machine that is built to handle at breakneck speeds. Autocross will be it’s primary sport, but it will do some road course, dragstrip, and street duty of course. While deciding on what way to go with the chassis I found this awesome little Toyota out of New Zealand, and drooled all over the tubed work. Now the gang at GrinderTV have gotten in on the action and made a pretty cool video about this thing. Sure it is a little lower than the LUV will be, but the same premise applies. I’m even sure Cole will spend plenty of time very sideways in it.
Watch the action and then check out the tube structures and such that makes this one special. I’m sure we’ll end up changing some things as we go, but this cool truck is most certainly inspiration.
Check it out.
Chad, please don’t let Cole become a Ricer. There are some good ideas on that truck though (stance isn’t one of them)
My god I want to slap you. Think for two seconds and read the blog item. I’m questioning the months of talking to you and helping fix your comments.
Chad…sliding is cool but it doesn’t make for a good AutoXer. It’s great to have a father/son project but don’t waste your time. Cornering or sliding choose one or the other. Have fun!!! 🙂
When did anyone say anything about building something that slides? Oh wait, never. I’m fairly familiar with autocross builds thank you. The tube chassis in this truck, as stated in the blog item, is inspiring for our build. You know what, never mind.
Do whatever except don’t ask us to help name it and then never have another comment ever.
We’ve been working on moving and the dually and a million other projects. Would you rather I just post a single photo saying ” Our shit doesn’t run but we named it this. See you later. ?” come on dude.
Its actually built in Geelong, Australia, (not New Zealand) by a bloke, Nigel Petrie. He build incredible stuff, check it all out here:

The truck is one of the most incredible garage build ever!
I agree! Very cool build.
