Stephan Papadakis needs no introduction, but if you have lived under a rock for the past three decades. Stephan started out as a Southern California import drag racer who set record after record in the import drag racing world. He was the first to 150, 160, 170, 180 as well as the first to take a Honda into the 9’s, 8’s, 7’s, and 6’s. Plus a bunch more records for more than a dozen major milestones in import drag racing. And then he built a drift car, and the world has never been the same. For 20 years he been building, racing, and managing championship winning drift teams and they have more championships than any other Formula Drift team in history.
So if Stephan decides he wants a cool, classic, canyon carving Celica for his daily, you know it has to be good. With that said, there is a lot about this thing that is NOT the normal Papadakis Racing recipe. Nope, there is no 1,000 horsepower combo under the hood of this one, but at only 2,000 lbs it certainly doesn’t need it to be an ultra fun SoCal daily.
This one makes less than 200 horsepower, but at that light weight I am quite sure this thing is a riot on the twisty canyon roads.
