Yes, I said killer looking Volvo. These older model Volvos have great lines and the even earlier ones remind me of 1940’s Fords. These here have lines that in some ways remind me of the last ’40s and early ’50s Chevrolet cars. Squint, you’ll see it. Regardless of whether you are a fan or not, the creativity going on here is inspiring. I’ve done what is going on here, but with different cars, and it isn’t nearly as easy as it seems in your head when you are in the day dreaming phase. If you aren’t in the mood to spend hours looking at a tape measure, then you are not the one who needs to be doing a project like this.
Yes, this kind of project requires a lot of sheetmetal work, but the real time will be spent measuring and figuring. The guy building this one is Svenmeister, which is incredibly fitting for a guy with a Volvo project like this one. In the video he remarks on all the cutting, welding, and grinding that has to be done for a project like this and he’s not kidding. There is a lot going on besides the obvious on this one too, with a complete air ride system and the requisite rocker sitting body drop, so watch the video and let us know what you think.
And in the comments, why don’t you tell us what body swap you think would be cool.
Guys obviously got skills and plenty on time on his hands
I dropped a 61 Falcon coupe body on an 85 Merkur XR 4ti after beating the sides off it going three wide into the corners while running paved oval circle track racing…giddy up!
