Showtime Motorsports Takes Us On An LS Adventure: LSFest In All It’s Glory

Showtime Motorsports Takes Us On An LS Adventure: LSFest In All It’s Glory

This video from the guys at Showtime Motorsports is a great tribute to our friend Todd Rumpke, who lost his battle with cancer recently, and a great tribute to everything that is Holley LS Fest. You can’t possibly understand how awesome an experience it really is until you’ve been there, but the crew at Showtime does a pretty good job of giving you the taste, and letting you feel it. This is an event that encompasses so much more than just drag racing or autocross. It’s got road racing, drifting, car shows, tech, and a family carnival atmosphere that just puts a smile on everyone’s face. More than 1000 cars entered the show and racing this year and the spectator numbers were through the roof. If you didn’t make it out, don’t worry, we’ll have another one next year, plus some other special LS Fest announcements are coming soon. You’ll want to start saving your vacation time now.

One note on this great video. Ken Thwaits talks about Todd Rumpke’s Corvette, Super Snoopy, in this video and refers to the fact that Danny Popp once owned it. He’s mistaken. Danny helped build this car with Todd, and has raced it a lot, but Todd has always owned and driven this car as well. Danny did drive it to a win at OUSCI a few years ago, and is going for a win hard core in this video as well.

Following LSFest, Todd Rumpke’s funeral was held in Ohio. A great group of racers took their cars up from LSFest and were a part of the ceremonies, including a huge parade of Corvettes, race cars, and the like. It was awesome. God speed Todd Rumpke. You will be missed.
