Car Feature Video:Steve Magnante Walks Us Around This Super Rare Pontiac 2+2 NASCAR Homologation Special!

Steve Magnante is back at it, this time with a super rare Pontiac 2+2 that owes its existence to NASCAR’s homologation rule and is ultra cool as a result. If you aren’t familiar with the NASCAR homologation rule, it was a rule that kept GM, Ford, and Mopar teams from building one off race cars for the track. Instead, they had to be based on a production car that was available to the general public. But as racers often do, the factory would make just a handful and sell them to “friends” which didn’t fly with the officials at NASCAR and so the homologation rule set a minimum of 500 units available for public purchase. Some of the models were significantly more popular than that, but others only just made it. This Pontiac 2+2 was available but just over 1200 was all that were built. This thing is super rare.

Watch the video and let Steve show you the details and the quirks, and talk numbers.
