Enjoy The Song That The Ferrari BB512 LM Belts Out As It Screams Around Monza

If there is one thing to count on when it comes to a Ferrari at a track, it’s that regardless of where it’s placed or how well it’s running, it will make a glorious noise the whole time it is running. Most of us are used to the ear-piercing, high-RPM shriek of the V-12 engines, but the flat-12 boxer engines that Scudeira Ferrari ran in the BB512 LM (LeMans) cars can sing it’s own note. Built by Ferrari’s own Customer Assistance Department (!) to replace the earlier 365 GT4 BB race cars that had been built by the NART racing team, the first four BB LM’s completed by Ferrari failed miserably in the 1978 24 Hours of LeMans. Unhappy with the result, Ferrari completely revamped the cars, changing up bodywork with assistance from Pininfarina. Underwood, the 5.0L flat-twelve’s carburetors were ditched for electronic fuel injection, which kicked power up enough to make the BB LM competitive. Thirty-some years on, and the BB512 LMs can still make a glorious noise. YouTuber 19Bozzy92 caught one of the twenty-five cars ripping around Monza and captured two of the rare beasts making some noise. Click play below and crank up the speakers!
