Goodwood Feature: 1982 Alfa Romeo 182 3.0-litre V12 – The Car That Almost Changed Alfa Romeo’s History!

Here is a car that nearly changed the history of Alfa Romeo, but missed it by just this much. But before we get to that, let’s get something straight. Alfa Romeo is the most beloved brand in Italy. I said what I said. Sure, Ferrari is more “famous” around the world, but it is still Alfa that has a hold on the hearts of Italians everywhere. Sure, Ferraris are sexy, have won tons of F1 races, and more, but an Alfa has historically been the car of the people. And for good reason. But what if Alfa had won the Monaco Gradn Prix? Would that have changed anything?

Video Description:

Just half a lap. Half a lap from potentially changing Alfa Romeo’s racing history. This gorgeous Alfa Romeo 182 saw some podium success, but in 1982, on the last lap in Monte Carlo, it ran out of fuel and lost the chance to become an Alfa Romeo legend and win the Monaco Grand Prix.

Thanks to owner Richard Hope, the Alfa Romeo 182 can still let that 3.0-litre V12 sing today as it competes at Monaco Historique.
