History In Action: Vice Grip Garage Takes The 1938 Chevrolet Racer Out For Laps!

When we first saw Derek and this 1938 Chevrolet racer, we knew that the days of this car sitting nice and quiet in a field somewhere, enjoying retirement were done. We just know the guy…and frankly, we’re jealous as all hell over what you are about to see here. The little small-block powered coupe, which smacks of moonshine-runner era NASCAR in all of the right ways, is coming out for some no-joke laps at a rallycross. This is a roundy-round racer, meant for dirt tracks and drifting, not a grassy field, but when you get a chance to shove your foot deep into the loud pedal, you take it, especially when the car in question is something this badass.

So there’s some issues. What do you expect for a car that was recently sitting in a field?
