Our hearts go out to the Block family, friends, co-workers, and to all the fans around the world who have come to love Ken Block. He was on a snowmobiling trip in Utah when the accident happened. We have no information on the location of the accident so are not sure whether it was near the Block home in Utah or at a vacation spot. He is survived by his wife Lucy, their two daughters, and one son. The announcement from Hoonigans can be seen below.
Block, 55, is one of the founders of DC shoes, the Hoonigan brand, and the now infamous Gymkhana Video Series. He’s been a major face in extreme driving sports and is as passionate as anyone when it comes to going fast. He and his wife Lucy have three kids, all of whom have been kept out of the public eye for most of their lives, until the eldest, daughter Lia, decided to take on the racing world herself in recent years. Again, our thoughts, prayers, and sincerest condolences go out to the Block family and friends.
While most recently known for being one of the world’s most famous rally drivers, Ken’s original passion was single-board sports like skateboarding and snowboarding. Along with his business partner Damon Way, the two founded DC Shoes in 1994. He’s a massive personality on social media, YouTube, and more and anyone reading this knows his escapades.
God Speed, and may you Rest in Peace.
