A confession about BangShift Mid-West HQ: due to the flawed geographical layout, my lawn looks like a scaled-down version of the Everglades anytime any amount of moisture falls from the sky. It sucks, and sooner or later I’m going to have to hop onto the lawn tractor and mow the field of onion grass down. It’s not going to be a nice, relaxing couple of hours on the mower…no, it will be more like crossing the “honey-do list” with a rallycross. Normally, that would be solid bitching from me about clumps of cut grass, mud everywhere and having to clean off a John Deere that looks like it was dredged out of an Alabama mud pit. But maybe I’m looking at it all wrong: over in England, it appears that turning lemons into lemonade is the answer. It looks fun enough: sideways in the mud is always a good time. When the wife comes home and sees what the backyard looks like…well, I hope she’s understanding, but I doubt she will be.
