Money No Object: 1969 Camaro Z/28 Road Racer. Channel Your Inner Mark Donohue The Right Way!

Is there anything that screams “ring the RPMs and hit the apexes hard” quite like a road-race prepared first-gen Camaro on Minilites? If there is, I’m missing the point, because every time I see one I think of the Penske/Donohue acid-dipped monster, the blue Sunoco-sponsored monster that was just that much better, even if it was incrementally, over the competition. I’m not one for first-gens normally, but hunkered down over some gumball rubber, with a screamer of a small block and and a transmission that’s more than happy to rip through the gears and suddenly I develop the overwhelming urge to see what Road Atlanta would look like from inside of the cockpit, with the redline being tested out before I dig deep into the brakes for the next big sweeper. It’s a hell of an image, isn’t it? It could be your reality if your checkbook allows.
