NCM Motorsports Park And Holley Break Ground On The Upcoming Holley Control Tower

The National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park, in conjunction with Holley Performance Products and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, broke ground on the new $1.8 million Holley Control Tower on Thursday, May 28, 2015. The facility, part of the infrastructure that will include the Kimberlee A. Fast pavilion and garage area and a Mobil 1 fueling station, will add on to what is already a first-rate facility and will provide NCM Motorsports Park with office space, meeting rooms, classrooms, a 2,000′ square foot viewing deck, and a retail area. Construction is expected to be finished in eight or nine months, depending upon the weather.

Tom Tomlinson, the president and CEO of Holley Performance, drove home just how important NCM Motorsports Park has become to Bowling Green: “We will be incorporating this track into Holley’s LS Fest, which last year brought 10,000 racers and participants to Bowling Green for an action-packed three day event. We expect Holley LS Fest to be bigger and better this year, especially with the addition of the NCM Motorsports Park to the agenda.” And that’s just one event. SCCA, Optima Ultimate Street Car, ChumpCar, and various automotive clubs and manufacturers have track time rented out for months to come. What does that mean for the region? Kentucky’s second-largest export sector is automotive parts and motor vehicles, which is worth $5.5 billion. Add in the draw of the National Corvette Museum, GM’s Bowling Green assembly plant, Holley and Beech Bend Raceway, and you can begin to see just how much motorsports affects the region’s economy. From our first-hand experience on the track, as we’ve said before, it is a gorgeous raceway, and the pavilion and garages are going up at an astonishing rate. We are excited to see the backing that Holley and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce have put behind NCM Motorsports Park, and we look forward to the opening day!
