No matter what the circumstance, if you are missing a pair of limbs or the use of the limbs, any and everything you do will be an uphill battle. But saying that, we are willing to assume that if given a choice, most people would better deal with losing their legs than their arms. Why? Between the advances in hand controls, wheelchairs and mobility devices and the general ease of use where the hands are concerned, living without legs suddenly seems the better part of a bad deal, right? Well, what if you lost your arms? Accidents happen and so do amputations…now what?
The driver of this LS-powered Nissan Skyline R34 is Bartosz Ostalowski. In 2006, he lost his hands and portions of his arms in an accident. Today he is a drift champion in Poland and is quickly gaining recognition for his talent behind the wheel. By steering with his left foot and manipulating the throttle with his right, Ostalowski controls the Skyline just as easily as any other person you’ve seen hang the tail out. In fact, we’re tempted to say this is even more impressive than normal, since he can’t use a handbrake and, from what we can tell, he’s using an automatic transmission with the gears locked out. If life gave Bartosz lemons, he didn’t just make lemonade…he poured in some liquor and started throwing a party. Good for him!
