So far, officially four production cars can claim a lap time of the Nurburgring Nordschliefe that falls into the six-second range: the Porsche 918, two different Radical SR8s and now, the Lamborghini Aventador SV or “SuperVeloce”. Because, you know, the base Aventador is such a timid little bunny of a car.
The numbers are as clinically insane as a Lamborghini should properly be: 0-62 in 2.8 seconds, 0-125 MPH in 8.6 and a top speed near 217 MPH. But handling has never been Lamborghini’s calling card, even under Audi’s tutorage. Even with the all-wheel-drive system, the big Lambos historically had a track record of turning a test-driver’s knuckles bone-white while dramatically increasing the likelihood of soiling themselves. At least now it looks like the knuckles are safe.
