The Last Gasps Of Winter At Goodwood’s 76th Members Meeting Didn’t Stop The Cars From Coming Out! Listen To The Legends Here!

With temperatures unseasonably cold over the United Kingdom and the threat of snow always just around the corner, it is impressive that Goodwood’s 76th Members Meeting event went down at all. You don’t normally pair off historic racing machines with values in the six, seven and even eight-digit price range with snow at all, but judging from the video footage we’ve been seeing, the folks who came out and took to the track are made of sterner stuff than we would have ever given them credit for. The racing continued on, because nobody was going to let a little snow get in their way of a good time. (There may be one Formula 5000 driver who is suffering from a bit of hindsight woe, but he did choose to go out and play in it!)

From a Bentley 4 1/2 Liter to GT40s, a Ferrari 512LM to a Land Rover trundling along a two-track trail around the property, the sights and sounds of Goodwood’s Members Meeting is simply “motor”. It’s not like the Festival of Speed, where everybody is going balls-out up the hillclimb, and it’s not the Revival, where the autos almost take a backseat to the roleplay of being fifty or sixty years back in time. The Members Meeting is all about the machines and how they run…regardless of weather.
